Don't sleep on this weekend's title fight taking place in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, between interim WBA super featherweight champion Likar Ramos (21-2, 15KOs) of Colombia and Jorge "Coloradito" Solis (37-2-2, 27KOs) of Mexico. The 30 year-old Solis, brother of former IBF light flyweight titlist Ulises Solis, lost his last fight against Cristobal Cruz for the IBF featherweight title last July. His first loss came to Manny Pacquiao in 2007 losing by KO in the 8th-round. The 24 year-old Ramos won his interim title last November in a 12-round UD over Alex Granados. Ramos also represented Colombia in the 2004 Athens Olympics. While this matchup looks to be a good one, on a side note, the WBA truly needs to stop handing out titles left and right. The regular champion is Takashi Uchiyama who recently won the title by KO over Mexican Juan Carlos Salgado.
