So Nfl.com did the 10 best players for some franchises and they had Rodgers ahead of Favre as GB's greatest player ever. Do you agree or not with that? I would have to lean with Favre seeing as how he never missed any games , has one more MVP and Super Bowl appearance. What do you think

i think its close but clear for Rodgers. Alot more efficient, higher completion %, much better TD-Int ratio and overall alot less turnovers. Also more mobile though Favre was no statue as well. Rodgers is never really the main reason GB loses any game. He may not play great in a game, or the D may get the better of him, or he may get outplayed in a shootout by the opposing qb, but he never really just shits the bed and plays horribly. We've seen that with Favre. But a case is worth making for Favre because he was alot more durable, which is amazing considering Favre was allowed to get hit where as Rodgers isnt. Also as mentioned more SB appearances and more MVPs. Favre should also have one more MVP as well. Its also funny when Rodgers won a SB so early in his career people just assumed Rodgers would dwarf Favre in SB wins and appearances. So many years later Brett still has the edge with his 1-1 SB record, and with the Rams, Falcons, Vikings, and Eagles so greatly built for the present and future, im gonna say Rodgers never reaches his 2nd SB.

Really? I would have to take a look at that. I feel like his "gunslinger" personality hides a lot of warts in his game. Off the top of my head, in no order, Brady, Manning, Montana, Marino, Rodgers, Brees all have to be ahead of him.

Marino is certainly not ahead of him and id have to take a look at Brees. not a slam dunk at first glance.

Marino was a playoff choke artist. Favre led 2 teams to SBs.

Manning
Brady
Montana
Elway
Rodgers

all def ahead of Favre. Maybe Brees. Favre > everybody else.

I would put Elway above him as well.

Pretty sure Favre is no worse than #2 or #3 in yards and TDs. Also has the Ironman record of straight starts for a QB. 3 MVPs straight. Plenty of heroics and fun to watch. One can argue he is ahead of some of those guys as well. In fact, I would put him ahead of my favorite player all time, Steve Young. Def ahead of Marino and Brees. Brees got one SB and one MVP. Same like Young.

Favre has 336 career picks. Averaged over his 20 year career, that's 16.8 per year, or a pick a game. Young has 107 career picks, averaged over a 15 year career of 7.1 per year.

For those counting at home, that's a td /into ratio of 2.1 for Young, and 1.5 for Favre.

Interesting stat, td to int ratio.

Elway - 1.32
Marino - 1.66
Favre - 1.5
Young - 2.1
Montana 1.96 (shocked by this number actually)
Peyton - 2.14
Brees - 2.14
Brady - 3.05

Favre got 3 MVPs bro, 3. Brady just got his third. The yards, completions, TDs, and consecutive starts are #1 or #2 at worst. All those conecuitve gmaes played and attempts lend itself to the INTs also, but no doubt he liked to let it go.

Ice, those td to int ratios were eye opening. I expected Favre to be on the bottom of that greats list, because of the rep he has for slinging it, but he had a better ratio than Elway, and was rather equivalent to Marino and Montana. I also expected a better number from Manning. Rodgers is on clip for 4.01 td to int ratio!

only surprising if you pretend all Favre did was throw INTs. also worth noting Favre best WR ever was Donald Driver, and best RB besides 1 season of AP is probaly Dorsey Levens. also didnt play half his games in domes or 80 degree heat like Montana, Young, Brees, Manning, and Marino.

Id say his best receiver was Antonio Freeman or Sterling Sharpe, then Greg Jennings, than probably Driver. But otherwise I pretty much agree. Surprising if you think all he did was throw picks.

So what does that say about manning when he played 1/2 in domes, had2 HOF Wr's back to back, 1 HOF RB and 1 borderline hof RB's back to back, and only clocked in at 2.14 while Brady plays outdorrs in a cold weather city and comes in at 3 and Rodgers, who plays in even worse outdoor conditions comes in at 4?

Ive avoided this discussion, mainly because im in the middle of my sabbatical and enjoying the fuck outta myself. But also because, I fucking hate Brett Favre, and would love to throw his ass under the bus, but I tried earlier, and I had a hard time naming 5 guys who were better, despite all of the interceptions.
