I don't like the kneeling because what changes has it led to? It has been the foundation and impetus for nothing. With that said, instituting a policy that affects the actual game is beyond moronic. How are you going to differentiate between a player kneeling to rest or a player kneeling when another player gets hurt? Can you read their mind when they are doing that to ensure they aren't kneeling in protest of the anthem? The kneeling is stupid. Penalties that affect the game for it is even stupider.

Ya, I posted about this in the NFL thread. I guess the other part of the proposed rule is that home teams will dictate if both teams will be on the sideline for the anthem. What if 4 people kneel? is that 4 individual penalties? what if teams from both teams kneel? off setting penalties? retarded.

Omg...it got even stupider. What an abomination. LOL if it really did end up being off-setting penalties.

ESPN is now reporting the owners will pass a policy that requires all players to stand for the anthem or face fines from both the NFL and teams. The new rule will give players to option to stay in the locker room for the anthem if they so choose.

I wonder how much the fines will be and if they'll be a set amount? I wonder how many of the idiot players will come out just for spite and still kneel and just pay the fines? In all honesty, politics is ruining the NFL at least. They will be talking about this non-stop leading up to the season and who knows how much time they'll spend on it during the season. I guess that just depends on each individual game and how players react.

Agreed. If it passes I can only hope that 1st sunday that every player kneels. And I am on record as saying I would never kneel, and that I don't like the idea. But I don't like the idea that people are going to be MANDATED to stand.

:kopfpatsch:

also what will the actual signal be?? Will the ref literally kneel as he's calling the kneeling penalty?? :hearty-laugh:

i can imagine the number of hypocrites who flaunt the 2nd Amendment when it comes to their precious guns but completely ignore the 1st Amendment when it comes to peaceful protest. This country really is a POS.

There is no flaw in your argument...except...

If you were to go into work with some form of peaceful protest, lets say, wearing a t-shirt with a message on it regarding the inequalities of this country....does your employer not have the right to tell you that is not in accordance with their dress code, and make you take it off?

Just playing devils advocate here.

Good on the Jets though for coming out and saying that they would not fine anyone of their players. But that statement needs to be followed up with he they voted yes to the rule in the 1st place.

yea he said they voted yes as a means of solidarity or some shit. Basically saying they all have to be on the same page one way or the other. Doesnt bother me. Him voting no doesnt prevent the new policy. we all know where the Jets stand.

Its a valid point, but I wish that some of these owners, including Kraft, would have voted no. fuck solidarity.

Jed York said the Niners abstained from voting in this matter. Maybe some other teams did as well

From everything I read York was the only one who abstained.

Well apparently there was never a vote. Never an actual vote. The league got the opinion or surveyed most of the owners, but never an actual vote. The jets and raiders owners said they abstained as well.

Its the same point I brought up earlier. IF there was an actual vote, why would he vote yes, if he was going to then come out and say he would pay the fines? Why not vote no, knowing it would pass, then come out and say he would pay the fines? Again, that's IF an actual vote took place, which seems to be in question.
