never understood why Herb Dean has the rep that he has as a top ref. he's always been terrible.

Chimaev, 192-2 strikes landed. This guy has next level top control, when he gets on you, you ain’t getting up. And, he’s punching every chance he gets. He looks to be a real problem.

Of course, we need to see more, someone with good take down defense, good ju jitsu, wrestling. It looks like this guy has some attention on him and I think the UFC will move him along pretty quick. I was looking at the 170 lb roster and here is who I think would be a good challenge. How about Demian Maia? He has a good name, great on the ground. He is getting a little long in the tooth, but, would be a good test. I also saw Gunnar Nelson who is good on the ground. Both would be a good test and good names to put on a resume, that is, if he could beat them. I think he could. I’d be rooting for this kid.

Remember the name Chimaev. I hope anyway because he’s fun to watch.

On a side note, when I first saw the UFC, I was not crazy about the ground game.the more I watched, the more I appreciated it though. Particularly, if your aggressive with submissions or aggressive with the ground and pound. Chimaev is one aggressive dude with ground and pound and I love that style.

same here. the battles on the ground, the transitions, the escapes, the little nuances in certain battles, its amazing stuff.

just finished up this last UFC card.....

prelims sucked.

4 fight main card was great. except for Holland-Giles being cancelled last minute. hope that gets rescheduled ASAP. had higher hopes for Randy Brown vs Luque, but Luque is a G, and getting better. Jennifer Maia probably stands no chance vs Shevy but it'll be her most interesting fight since Nunes. Maia is a firecracker and well rounded. Bonea mentioned recently about the ground game and transitions etc, go see how Maia finished Calderwood. a work of art that was. and felt great for Brunson TKO win over the much hyped 22 year old. great fight. Brunson is another well rounded UFC OG.

Bellator actually has a worthwhile main card coming up Friday night, headlined by one of my all time favs Benson Henderson in a rematch vs Michael Chandler. always wished Chandler made it to the UFC. he's legit. he'll probably beat Benson again.

Good, dominant win for Brunson. I was rooting for him. He has a pretty damn good resume at this point. They were mentioning how Shabazyan was gassed out. I get it that leg kicks, taking some ground and pound will wear you down, but, I did not see that much punishment he had taken when they mentioned that, or, maybe I need to look at it again. Either way, your 22 years old, fighting in the UFC, I imagine it’s your only job, you should never get tired. Maybe I just don’t get it.

Good win by Maia. God bless her when she faces Shevchenko.

Luque is a bad dude. He has a lot of finishes at 170. I like to watch guys that like to fight and bring it.

I think it can be a shock, physically, for a 22 year old under those circumstances. sure there's no crowd, but its still his first main event. he's never fought someone as good and tough as Brunson. so when Brunson starts eating shots that have normally put past opponents away, and Brunson is hitting him harder than anyone ever has, and he's being grappled and taken down like never before, yea he definitely got tired. it was a whole new world for him.

WOW. scary fight for Cody. im the biggest Cody fan in the world. but he's chinny and dropping down in weight can hurt his punch resistance even more. and Figueiredo hits like a truck.

Weidman looks shot for whatever reason, but he got the win the only way he could IMO.

D fukn Lewis! Didn't think he was going to survive that last half of the 1st.
AO blew himself up trying to get the submission and gassed out I think.
Derrick is so explosive and a damn big man.
His fists are like coconuts!

" he had me in that British Bulldog....or whatever the hell that head submission was."

Derrick Lewis is a treasure.

great UFC card tonight. Weidman grinded out a must win gutsy performance, but he's absolutely done. no idea whats next for Lewis. but he's 100% must see tv.

Im gonna say cormier wins via using his strengths. He knows if he stands and strikes this time Stipe will concentrate on the body....and Cormier aint winning that kind of fight.

I got Cormier by decision. He has to be smart enough to know that Miocic will be going after body and practicing take down defense. Cormier gets him against the fence and controls fight from there.

I got O’Malley by decision.

Dos Santos by decision.

Stipe the GOAT, JDS chin has completely evaporated, O'Malley got a horrendous unlucky break, and Herb Dean is still a terrible referee.

UFC 252.

O Malley got too cute after his feints started to lose their effectiveness and he outfaked himself.
Was a weird-ass stoppage though. I didn't watch any intereview to see how OMalley felt about it.
He got popped with some good stuff on his back but I don't think he was out.
He might have been doomed with the limp....less power...less movement...in trouble.

Stipe vs DC came down to one thing IMO.
Stipe found a way to stop the half clinch drop right combo.
Stipe clinched, held his wrist, and drove him to the fence over and over.
He left himself open a few times getting fatigued, but he won the fight without question.
Both men had some eye pokes and low dick kicks so I'll call it even.

yea it looked like he was going for some fancy footwork type of deal and the one foot didnt cooperate and it turned out to be an unfortunate freak accident.

Stipe fought a beautiful fight. definitely won without question. the eye poke sucked, but he was still up 2-1 before the poke (3-0 apparently on 2 cards), and DC clearly won rd 4 afterwards. it sucked but them be the breaks. DC fought well to. great fight. both guys were significantly hurt multiple times. DC more so.

Them skinny long Tommy Hearns like men have some leverage advantages that come with some disavantages. Did you hear the commentary about that OMalley fight? Both those little fucks had longer kick reaches than the heavyweight card. Hip to instep length on both those skinny dudes were insane.
