12 damn seasons, no playoff wins, ZERO playoff wins in 12 season. Rex Ryan who a lot say isn't a legit HC already had 4 playoff wins in just 2 seasons with Mark Sanchez. Just some perspective. Now, he has turned around a franchise that was used to winning 3-4 games a year, they are perennial regular season winners, so there's that, and that's no small thing. But damn, 12 seasons and zero playoff wins, your goals have to be higher than 10 regular season wins a year. He's gotta go.

I don't think he's a great coach but I don't think he should be fired either. He's done well in one of the toughest divisions in football for years. At the end of the day his qb is still dalton. I can't see any other head coach doing much better with that team.

he is a terrible head coach. Terrible clock management, etc. As long as Marvin is there, this team ain't doing shit.

Yea its really sad that he cant get even one win during playoff time. I think he should be replaced. But if there isnt anyone better than I guess stick with him. I'm sure the owner has to be thinking "this dude cant win when I need him to".

I don't even know how Cincinnati would think twice about this, it's time to go in a different direction. I mean, tough shit when you have your two leading receivers out, but he's had over a decade to make some sort of push.

teams with less talent and lesser QBs have won a playoff game. 12 years man....

Your right, but again look at their division and conference.
Within those 12 years the steelers have gone to the super bowl 3 times. The ravens twice. The Bengals have never been able to fuck with those two not just because of the coach, but because Dalton ain't that good either. And now with the browns starting to make some noise it might get worse. Factor in the bradys dominance and Payton's consistency, dalton might not win a playoff game till those two retire.

Again I don't think lewis is a great coach but you fire him for what? I don't see a winner out there. Guys like shanahan and del Rio will probably get something close to a 8-8 record. Harbaugh was the big name, but the good harbaugh is actually still in the playoffs. An interim coach or an untested coordinator seems likely.

Now maybe in wrong but aren't Dalton's numbers something like 1 TD 7 picks in the playoffs? That can't all land on lewis.

well then get a new QB or something, staying status quo with Marvin and Andy is straight disaster. Dalton fucking sucks. Marvin has no playoff wins in 12 years. Blame one of them and give the other hope that a better partner will make everything right.

No he should not. Hes doing a good job. They have had some poor luck. He has broight in solid coaches to his staff that have went on to be head coaches themselves. Rex aint doing that. He has to get rid of Andy dalton, and continue to draft well

well, breeding assistants into HCs, who then go on to win playoff games, isn't a great reason to keep Marvin Lewis.

Seriously though, if not now, then how long do you give him to win ONE playoff game before saying enough is enough. Or is winning 10 regular season games a year actually enough. 13, 14, 15 years as HC and no playoff wins but keeps making the playoffs, you still keeping him?? as for the QB thing, I get it, Dalton sucks. but look at some of the QB match ups in playoff games where the Bengals have gotten beaten, and even dominated.

Carson Palmer vs Mark Sanchez

Andy Dalton vs T.J. Yates

Andy Dalton vs Matt Schaub

just saying.....

Ok lets say he won one, does it make a difference? Like you said Rex won 4 but fired, its a what have you for me lately league, and as long as your competing and making the playoffs I dont see how you fire him, unless its for a guy with an impeccable resume

So it's ok to settle for being mediocre? It's ok if they lose every playoff game, or every big game they are in? If it's not sunday at 1, the bungles arenlt winning. That shit starts at the top and trickles down.

You dont fire guys for making the playoffs!!!

Unless he has a dam all pro team that is complete from top to bottom and they are not that. Dalton sucks but look at all the other talent hes drafted and brought in, aj green, hill, bernard, burfict and others on D, he cant fo out and pkay for these guys. They have had super bowl winners in their division, injuries, and it aeems every year they lose either a star player or excellent coach but Marvin gets em back in the playoffs, and thats not mediocre

you make some good points Ice. Except for the excuse of being in a tough division. That really has no relevance to the topic at hand. Its not like the Ravens and Steelers are constantly keeping them from the playoffs or knocking them out the playoffs. Unlike Lewis, Harbaugh and Tomlin get their players ready to win the big games.

Its part of the reason. Lewis's ravens. paulomalos (sp?) Steelers. 4 out of the 16 games they play. Only six teams allowed in playoffs. None of the Bengals teams have been that good. Maybe palmers.

the topic is should Lewis be fired cause he hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade. The last 5 playoff losses have been to the Colts, CHargers, Texans 2x, and the Jets. 2x they won their division only to get shit kicked at home by 9-7 WC teams who barely made the playoffs. The only competitive loss was at Houston when the Texans were down to their 3rd string QB. So what do the Ravens and Steelers have to do with any of that?? Steelers didnt even make the playoffs last 2 years prior to this one, Ravens missed last year. Bengals haven't ran into Brady or Peyton. Still cant do shit. Some excuses can fly, some simply cant. This Ravens/Steelers one doesn't fly.

You heap praise upon Harbaugh deservedly so, but look hes already out of the NFL. He lost alot ofthe lpcker room with his cornball antics, and xoulsnt get along with his GM. While Marvin has never lost the locker room and is contantly backed up by his owner and GM.

Hes a good guy and a good coach. You dont fire him for some rookie coordinator or dinosaur ex pro coach
