Good fight on tonight....Usman vs Burns.

About that Gina...It part of this "know nothing" culture we got blossoming.
A lot of talk like "people don't know" and "a lot of people are saying".

Usman is a fucking savage. he'll eventually lose again because thats the nature of the sport. maybe Chimaev builds himself up and does it a year or 2 from now. but gah damn its gonna take a special performance to beat him. Burns went to hard to fast from the opening bell. maybe that was the plan, to get Usman out of there ASAP. and Burns rocked him bad early. but once Usman recovered, worked the jab, and Burns got tired, it was a wrap. Great performance by Usman.

Looks like it's gonna be a street jesus rematch. Dana offering it to Usman because its the most money he can give his champ, not because Masvidal is the most deserving. Usman throws a two handed jab that he doesnt telegraph or throw in a rhythm, he simply switches from conventional to southpaw and back and by his feet you know its coming but not when, and it's hard as a fucking rock.

Dana said just 2 days ago if he can get Covington to fill in for the fallen out Chimaev, then the winner of Covington/Edwards would get a title shot vs Usman. but Usman wants the money vs Street Judas. i guess you can do both fights and have the winners square off. but the winner of Covington/Edwards deserves an immediate shot. Usman deserves to call his shot. and Judas deserves nothing, but he'll benefit out of this.

Usman turned in a badass performance.
Burns was lighting it up putting it on Usman too.
I think the mistake Burns made was thinking that "on-the-back" defense would give him time to breathe a bit. Usman didn't fall for it and Burns got sucked it to staying there in a test of will.
Then Usman got in those body shots...fucking hard ones.
Try doing what he did that long and that hard....its a core-drain.
Usman then had time to recover for those times he got rocked.

Great fight though...Burns has nothing to be ashamed of but he needed to keep that momentum and lost it on his back for so damn long.

and this is very strategic on Jons part, arguably having lost his last 2 fights. he knows he's past prime and at the end of the road. so for his legacy, its better to lose at HW and have most just dismiss the loss because it was indeed at HW. he'll still go down as undefeated in his weight class and arguably the GOAT. maybe thats not the case if he got wrecked at LHW.
