What the hell is wrong with people in this country?

Are we really this far gone mentally, emotionally, and spiritually?

The simple, and unfortunate answer, is yes.

The psychopath Ian Long drove his MOTHER's car to Borderline Bar & Grill to murder those people. Let that sink in. You already know he had a history of mental illness and his mommy refused to commit him. Probably on every SSRI known to man.

So, earlier this year, Ian had been visited by the Ventura County Sheriff's crisis intervention team, who decided he did not need to be taken into custody for a mental health hold. Amazing.

He got the Glock legally. No idea about the smoke grenades. He's a military vet most likely suffering from PTSD, and was probably kicked to the curb by the VA and of course you can't get mental health treatment anymore and he was probably pacified and placated by his mother and she probably "assured" the authorities that he was under her control....blah blah blah

How, in this day in age, if you know someone has a mental problem, is he allowed to keep a gun? Don't the cops check that shit?

Cali has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, but we don't really know what is on his permanent record as far as mental health is concerned. Not sure where he purchased the gun either. But, yes, if he was under his mother's care, no way in the world should he have been allowed access to a gun. Plenty of blame to go around as per usual.
