He's not on their level. Now you wanna talk could he beat GGG next year, after ggg has had 2 more fights and is 38 or 39 or whatever, then maybe. But I don't think so. I think we just saw him against the perfect opponent.

idk man, we've seen GGG and Canelo get troubled by the type of things Saunders seems capable of doing.

I am interested in seeing it, that's for sure. Hell, have him come over here, fight Jacobs with the winner getting the winner of GGG/Canelo.

That's how they would have done it in the old days.

I lean towards no. As we all agreed Lemieux is a C level fighter. One that only fights in a straight line and is easy to outbox. Those other 3 hit hard, are quick, can go the distance, and wont follow Saunders stupidly so he can shoe shine them. But hey, maybe Billy has more in the tank to show us in the clutch.

True, Charlo should also be in the mix for this discussion. You know that GGG/Canelo are hooked up for the rematch. I don't want to see these guys sitting around waiting for it to be over, they should be fighting eachother.

Jermall has more work to do at MW. No guarantee that GGG will want that action right after Alvarez though. I'm willing to put a test out to anyone who wants to pick GGG over Jermall if they fight.

But that work is there. BJS vs Charlo, Jacobs vs Charlo, Jacobs vs BJS, I am in on all these fights.

I doubt BJS is willing to fight Charlo. Itll probably be Jacobs vs Charlo. And BJS gets first crack at GGG.

Would love to see Jacobs v Charlo, but no way should BJS get a shot at the GGG/Canelo winner without doing something meaningful 1st.

BJS got a title so he can technically get first crack at Canelo/GGG. He’s done more at ME than Charlo for sure and I would argue Jacobs as well. Jacobs has Quillin and a close GgG fight. BJS has Andy lee, Lemieux, Monroe , and somebody else I know I’m forgetting.

I am with you guys as far as seeing the Charlos in a big fight

I suppose it's possible, but dominating Lemieux is no barometer for coming to that conclusion. Billy Joe reminds me a little of Calzaghe without the punch output. Somebody coming straight ahead at him is where he's going to look best, which is why Lemieux made him look like a world beater. Jacobs and Alvarez won't do that. Golovkin will, but is better than Lemieux in every way, so who the fuck knows how much success Billy Joe would have there.

its not neccessarily about Lemieux. its about a skill set that BJS has that may or may not make him dangerous for those guys.

BJS skill set only looked that good because he was fighting Lemieux though, as Gruber said..and I also mentioned, none of the other three are that bad, nor will they follow BJS around like that, except for the hardest puncher of the bunch who will get to him much better than Lemieux did.

Heck, ill say something controversial, he might be able to pull of some squeaky bum against GGG and get a close win! But I see Jacobs and Alvarez handling him. SO on that note, I hope he gets priority to fight GGG after the GGG/Canelo rematch if GGG wins.

so with other guys you are saavy enough to distinguish the skill set from the opponent. but not in this case.
