The 2009 National Golden Glove Tournament of Champions began on May 4^th in Salt Lake City Utah, and the action has been fierce over the last four days. Boxing Hideout spotlighted the Cleveland Golden Gloves regional tournament, and the ten fighters have made the trip to Salt Lake City for competition. One of the most prestigious tournaments in America, the level of competition taking place is of the highest quality from the United States, and many fighters who are competing as we speak, are the future of USA Boxing. The quarterfinal results are in and the winners are now advancing to the semi-finals of their division.

In our coverage of the Cleveland Regional Golden Gloves tournament, 10 fighters made it to the national tournament. Only one boxer, Eduardo Alicea, has moved on to the semi-finals, as former 2-time Junior Olympic champion Zeddie Adams, Yuandale Evans, and former undefeated MMA national champion Stipe Miocich were all upset in their quarterfinals matchup. Also eliminated was last years Golden Glove bronze medalist Antonio Nieves who was upset in his first match. Adams, lost to Michael Finney representing Knoxville. Finney is a 2008 Junior Olympic champion. Alicea, was able to avenge former losses against Leandre White representing Detroit and move on to the medal rounds.
